You have a very important 'front of
house' role to play as the Chefs will be spending much of their time
preparing meals in the kitchen. You will create a warm, inviting and
welcoming chalet by making sure it is clean and tidy at all times, and
making sure the guests have everything they need.
Your specific responsibilities include:
- checking weekly Guest Information
in conjunction with the Chef
- welcoming new guests and assisting
with luggage
- updating the information pack on
a weekly basis
- ensuring enough beds, cots &
linen are in the chalet, and in the right rooms
- carrying out a daily clean of the
chalet, including fireplaces where appropriate. (A daily clean should
be carried out in school chalets, regardless of whether Tidy Room
Competition is running)
- carrying out Changeover Day clean
and completing Chalet Audit
- carrying out Welcome Speech in conjunction
with Chef
- explaining ski passes, ski school;
ski hire; private lessons, ski guiding and crèche/kindergarten
to guests
- making reservations for all the above
through the Activities Coordinator
- collecting payments on Sunday evenings
and returning reconciled accounts to the Activities Coordinator at
the weekly staff meeting
- confirming return transfer timings
with guests and giving complete information to the Activities Coordinator
at weekly staff meeting
- setting the table, serving and hosting
guests at meal times
- clearing table and dishwashing after
meals
- carrying out basic maintenance, and
reporting issues to the Housekeeper
- shovelling snow first thing in the
morning before paths are used
- assisting with school Evening Activity
Programme when required
Applicants for this position do not
need specific catering skills but previous work in the hotel & catering
trade would be advantageous.
