The Area
Over the last few years the Portes du Soleil has invested time and money into developing the region as an exciting and popular area for mountain biking holidays. Avoriaz is now the venue for World Cup and World Championship competitions and several other local trials are organised throughout the summer by other resorts in the area, many of which are open to the general public. Both Avoriaz and Chatel have built dual slalom courses with timing equipment and Morgins and Les Gets have laid out permanent downhill pistes. The Morzine course is 3,250 metres long with a vertical drop of 524 metres and the course in Les Gets is 3,600 metres long with a vertical drop of 660 metres.
If you have skied the Portes du Soleil in the winter you will already know the phenomenal extent of the area. During the summer 24 chair lifts are open to do the uphill work and give you access to 380 kilometres of marked trails throughout the region. If you want to be more adventurous and, for example, take off for a 2 day ride with a night spent under canvas in the mountains, or find some exciting, little used downhill trails we can organise a local guide.

Accommodation
All the accommodation mentioned in the web site is available for mountain bike holidays. Whether you want basic self-catered or fully catered en-suite accommodation we can provide it. We can, on request, provide packed lunches at a small additional charge. Prices will vary depending on your requirements but will typically be SFr 8 - 10 per person

Guides
We can organise local guides to take you to the furthest reaches of the Portes du Soleil or show you the best downhill trails. They will be English speaking and can be booked on a half-day or daily basis. A guide will cost in the region of SFr300 per day.
